Ides of July
Inspired by the ancient Classical world, this painting is drenched in the luxuriant colours of late summer. It is up to the viewer to decide whether the woman in the magenta gown is a malicious sorceress, a devoted priestess or simply a lady enjoying the warm summer night's air.
The Gambler
This painting is inspired by the legend of a Danish noblewoman, who was perhaps a bit too fond of gambling. She lost her estate in a game of cards, and ended up playing with Satan himself - the legend does not say who won that particular gamble...
Midwinter
While the lanterns illuminate the deep shadows of winter, the evergreen leaves in his hair and the apple in his hand hint at the promise of a new spring.
This painting is inspired by Les Tres Riches Heures de Duc de Berry, a sumptiously illustrated Gothic book of hours.

Solstice
Symbolising the the stillness of the dead of winter - fire and sleet and candlelight, as the song goes - this painting also shows that ancient symbol of rebirth, the cauldron.
Sweet November
Inspired by the legends and traditons of Hallowe'en, this autumnal faerie poses with her pumpkin lantern and her crown of leaves at the withered gate of winter.
Witchcraft
This painting is inspired by the haunting and blood-stained legends of the European witch craze.
The Plutonian
Evocative and sombre, this painting is inspired by the astrological and mythological associations of Pluto, God of the Underworld and planet of transformation, rebirth and the occult.
This is indeed brilliant! And I loved the "Gambler" that you made. Take care dear friend.
